Victor Estrada Manzo

Convex expressions for the design of nonlinear controllers and observers" seminar

As part of the scientific activities of the LAMIH's automatique department, a seminar will be held by Victor Estrada Manzo, associate professor at the Polytechnic University of Pachuca, Mexico.

It will take place on October 11 from 2 to 3 pm in amphitheatre E8 of the Claudin le Jeune 2 building.

This talk is an introduction to the analysis and design of nonlinear systems via linear matrix inequalities. It covers convex expressions up to some results on observers and system diagnosis. It is shown how certain algebraic manipulations lead to LMI conditions, some drawbacks of the presented framework will be given.

Víctor Estrada was born in Zamora, Mexico, in 1987. He received his PhD in automatic control from the University of Valenciennes and Hainaut-Cambrésis, France, in 2015, on the topic of nonsingular convex descriptor systems. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Sonora Institute of Technology, Mexico, from 2015 to 2018. He currently holds an associate professorship at the Polytechnic University of Pachuca, Mexico. His research focuses on the analysis, design and diagnosis of nonlinear control systems using quasi-LPV descriptor models and convex optimization techniques.
