Seminar "The challenges of teaching computer science - reflections based on personal experience".
As part of the scientific leadership of the LAMIH computer science department, a seminar will be held by Professor Walid Nejjar (department chairman CS 2018-2023 UCR).
It will take place on Friday October 13 from 10:30 to 11:30 am at Amphi IEMN.
Walid A. Najjar is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California Riverside. His research interests include computer architectures and compilers for parallel and high-performance computing, embedded systems, FPGA-based code acceleration and reconfigurable computing.
Walid obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the American University of Beirut in 1979, and master's and doctoral degrees in computer engineering from the University of Southern California in 1985 and 1988 respectively. From 1989 to 2000, he was on the faculty of the Computer Science Department at Colorado State University, having previously worked at the University of Southern California's Information Science Institute. He is an ACM Distinguished Scientist and a member of the IEEE and AAAS.
