National Biomechanics Day

What is Biomechanics?

The National Biomechanics Day was held on April 9. This is an annual day of celebration of biomechanics as a scientific discipline.

The aim of this day is to introduce this science to the general public and particularly to young high school students in order to raise their awareness of the biomechanics they practice without knowing it.

With this in mind, LAMIH welcomed high school students to help them discover this science through workshops in which they lent themselves to the game, in small groups for greater interactivity.

At the program 5 workshops:

  • Analysis of markerless walking in real-life conditions
  • Analysis of postural balance
  • Characterization of biological materials and structures
  • Measurements of muscular activity
  • Serious games, ergonomics and acceptability

Our teams in the Human and Life Sciences and Mechanics departments were able to enthrall the students and, we hope, inspire them to pursue a career in this discipline.

Thank you to our students and trainees for their commitment to these workshops: Camille Lafond, Elodie Dancerel-Bourlon, Ahmed Yacine Lardjane, Mathieu Phosanarack, Quentin Adalbert Demartaize and Manon Degardin.
