The world's cold-forging community met in Valenciennes for 3 days
LAMIH is proud and pleased to have hosted the 58th plenary meeting of the International Cold Forging Group (International Cold Forging Group - ICFG) in Valenciennes from September 14 to 17. The event was co-organized with L'Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers and Mines Paris-PSL
The global cold forging community gathered in Valenciennes for 3 days to exchange ideas, foster collaborations and advance forming technologies.
Professors Laurent Dubar and Yoshinori Yoshida opened the session, which brought together around 100 industry and academic experts from 13 countries to exchange knowledge and drive innovation in cold forging technologies.
Day 1
The participants first began working in sub-groups around the themes:
- Lubrication,
- Smart data,
- Computational cold forging,
- Tool life and quality,
to then reconvene for a collective session.
The day ended with a Gala dinner in the magnificent Chapelle du Royal Hainaut.
The opportunity for Laurent Dubar to pass on the torch to Peter Groche for the organization of the next edition of the ICFG plenary meeting to be held in Darmstadt (Germany) and to offer a symbolic gift "an Eiffel Tower rivet", manufactured by Agrati Group and engraved with the effigy of ICFG2025 thanks to LAMIH's FEMTO Laser.
Day 2
Day 2 was devoted to company visits:
and ended with a cultural and convivial moment: a visit to the Brasserie La Choulette and its museum followed by a good meal typical of the North.

Day 3
The last day of the convention was another intense one!
On the program: Keynotes, ICFG AGM, awards ceremony and work presentations!
Thank you to André Dubois, Marion Merklein, Frédéric Perdriset, Francisco Chinesta and Kazuhiko Kitamura, who did us the honor and pleasure of giving a keynote in their area of expertise:
