Workshop - Production XR
The Audiovisual and Multimedia courses at INSA Hauts-de-France are organizing a week of Masterclasses dedicated to XR Production.
New Media Production
For the second year running, INSA Hauts-de-France is organizing a Masterclass for its students⋅e⋅s in the Audiovisual stream, Master Productions, Master Metaverse, Audiovisual and Multimedia engineering title. Themed talks by XR production experts punctuate a week of workshops during which students⋅e⋅s design 5 immersive projects. This year, the lectures are open to the public.
On the program, starting Monday February 9, students⋅e⋅s from M1 Productions, M1 Metaverse and Ingénieurs 4A AVM, will attend four conferences at the heart of the immersive industries (XR, spatial computing, generative AI), design workshops and a final hackathon.
A week rich in professional encounters and learning, giving our students a concrete grasp of developments in the audiovisual and new media industries!
Conference program :
Olivia Papini (Imari Skills) - Strategic overview of immersive industries (XR, spatial computing, generative AI) : this session offers an exploration of current mutations in the immersive ecosystem (XR, spatial computing, generative AI), crossing creative, economic and strategic approaches. Based on an international watch and concrete case studies, including the Fortnite Toulon and Water Screen projects, the aim is to understand how content, financing and distribution in the field of immersive creation are articulated today. Participants will discover new models of storytelling and audience engagement, as well as the mechanisms that foster the emergence of hybrid projects with a strong cultural and territorial impact.
.Pierre-Marie Blind (Blind Studio) - Sound design for immersive experiences: this course offers to explore the many contributions of sound design to the creation of immersive experiences. Through a presentation of the associated Wwise Unity software, students will discover the tools and methods for designing and coordinating an interactive and dynamic sound universe for immersive works. Drawing on recent works from immersive experiences such as Puzzling places (realities IO), Ubisoft escape games, Marilou (Smallcréative), Moi fauve (Smallcréative) and Respire encore (Zéro de conduite Production), the course will analyze the narrative, spatial, temporal and cognitive potential of sound in the spectator's experience. Particular attention will be paid to the permanent, real-time dialogue between sound effects, ambiences and music, and to the way these interactions participate in the construction of meaning, emotion and immersion within an immersive work.
.Valerie Riffaud Cangelosi (Reapse Consulting, RA Pro) - Augmented reality: issues and perspectives : definition and differences between virtual reality and augmented reality, analysis of AR use cases (B2C, B2B2C), focus on AR use cases in industry, explanations of the different types and uses of XR hardware and conclusion of visions for CES 2026 (Consumer Electonicien Show in Las Vegas).
Arnaud Colinart (Atlas V) - Production and distribution of XR programs: analysis of the evolution of the XR market and the place taken by AI in the Atlas V teams, case study of the series Paradoxe for Arte and panorama of distribution circuits and strategies.
