An original theatrical experience for five BUT GIM apprentices

Enthusiastic and invested, they prepare to take to the boards

As part of the Apprentiscène scheme, the apprentice actors receive twenty hours of theatrical training, which will take them to the stage of the Théâtre Libre (Paris 7th) at the end of May.

This unique concept of promoting trades, apprenticeships and work-study schemes through behavioral theater has been around since 2002. It is dedicated to the active integration of young people into companies.

The workshops, led by Claire Dumelz drama teacher, take place at the IUT and are integrated into an SAé (situation d'apprentissage et d'évaluation)

The program is intense for Antoine, Yanis, Guillaume, Zacharie, Gautier, in their 1st year of BUT Génie industriel et maintenance (GIM):

• behavioral workshop (2 hours),
• proactivity workshop (2 hours),
• theater workshop (10 hours),
• rehearsal & stage show at Théâtre Libre (6 hours).
  

As the workshops progress, exchange is created in the group and leads to a real dialogue. The aim is for them to work together to co-write and stage 3-minute skits that talk about their professions or a major societal cause, applying behavioral theatrical techniques.

Through the workshops, apprentices discover a variety of artistic expressions, dive into dreams and fantasy, imagine stories, talk about their professions... and gain confidence.

The group is supported at the IUT by Manuel Witkowski, in charge of relations with apprentices at the Relations entreprises, formation continue, apprentissage (Refca) department.
