Challenge 3: Design and Evaluation of Interactive, Adaptive and Multimodal Systems

The IT department is facing 3 main challenges, including : " Design and Evaluation of Interactive, Adaptive, and Multimodal Systems

Propose techniques for the design and evaluation of systems

In this challenge, the objective is to propose techniques, methods and models for the design and evaluation of interactive, adaptive and multimodal systems. In our approach, the specificities and needs of people with reduced mobility, elderly or in a handicap situation are taken into account. For this purpose, new and more natural interaction mechanisms (tangible, implicit, multimodal) and approaches allowing the adaptation to the user and/or the target person as well as to its context are developed.

.

We are interested in two locks :

  • The first lock is methodological and concerns the definition of development frameworks for these new types of applications. Indeed, these require the integration of different scientific fields (software engineering, human-computer interaction) as well as the integration of heterogeneous technologies (sensors and new interaction devices such as immersive or holographic displays).
  • The second one, more applicative, is related to the particularization of these interactive systems, according to a user-centered approach, for a specific public: people with reduced mobilitý, elderly or in a handicap situation. The contributions developed in the framework of the second lock will be conducted in cooperation with the region's hospital centers.
