Advanced Automatics for the Mobility of People with Reduced Mobility (PMR) - ECOS-Nord N° M17M02

This is a Franco-Mexican project for exchanges between researchers and teacher-researchers with the University of Sonora.

This project is part of the societal theme of mobility for disabled and/or aging people, classified in the family of people with reduced mobility (PMR). The aim is to provide concrete solutions to improve the mobility of PRMs, based on the use of modern automation tools.

.

The techniques proposed in this project require the introduction of models of human behavior in different situations. This modeling, of the human alone or in interaction with an assistance system, even considering simplifying hypotheses leads to obtaining non-linear models, sometimes of large size and possibly including important constraints as well as delay problems, notably on inputs. The two teams collaborating on this project are well placed to develop methodological tools for observing and/or controlling these complex systems. They have the necessary hindsight on several methodologies (quasi-LPV, optimal control, sliding modes, etc.) and a 10-year history of collaboration in these fields. This is evidenced by numerous joint publications (we can cite 18 international journals including the most prestigious in the field, 2 book chapters) and the many exchanges of PhD students and teacher-researchers.

.

Finally, since applicative interest is of equal importance in this proposal, the numerous projects and platforms of LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201 will support these methodological developments and, where appropriate, may lead to innovation. These may include a re-education system, the study of walking for the elderly, electric assistance for wheelchairs, etc. Experiments are therefore to be planned mainly within LAMIH and may, depending on developments, include laboratory partnerships with organizations (hospital services, Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, Valenciennes, CHRU Lille) and/or industrialists (Zodiac Aerospace, Autonomad Mobility).
