PROTECT

Firmware: Firmware is a program built into a piece of computer hardware to enable it to function. For computers in the broadest sense, it's the first instructions to be executed by their processor. These instructions initialize the platform and launch the operating system. Firmware therefore has maximum privileges within the platform, and it is therefore essential to question their possible weaknesses in the face of various attacks. One possible attack is to alter the firmware so that it serves the attacker's interests (data theft or machine lock-up, for example). This project investigates security measures to reinforce firmware integrity. It proposes methods for protecting firmware from tampering by considering various realistic attack scenarios.
