SEATS - COLIBRI
Passenger Seats of the Future
Breaking with current technological standards to offer the seats of the future.
The aim of this project is to find innovative solutions to meet the seating expectations of passengers and airlines alike.
As a key element of the cabin, the seat helps to attract and retain customers, and represents a decisive competitive advantage.
In addition to passengers' growing comfort requirements, the seats of the future will also have to address weight issues, as lightening them will enable airlines to make considerable fuel savings. But this weight reduction must not be at the expense of passenger safety, and must comply with constantly evolving safety standards. The seats of the future will thus be lighter but also more comfortable, and will allow new in-flight activities (telephony, internet, care, etc.
).Finally, the changing morphology of passengers, whose height and weight are tending to increase, as well as the aging of the population, require seats that meet new dimensional and functional expectations. Seat designers and manufacturers must therefore develop satisfactory solutions for all passengers, whatever their age, weight or disability.
