A look back at the IUT dictation
Spelling and grammar test in Valenciennes
205 first-year students took part in the dictation organized in May by the IUT
This year, 4 departments (GIM, GMP, GEII, TCV) took part in the exercise.
The dictation concerned the text "Mademoiselle Lenglen est victorieuse"extract from a article from Le Petit Parisien published on February 17, 1926, some passages of which have been adapted. This text is about a famous French tennis player and highlights her elegance and grace on the court.It fits perfectly with current events, in the run-up to the Olympic Games hosted by France where the famous Roland-Garros tournament has just ended.
Fifteen students were honored thanks to their scores ranging from 13 to 18 out of 20
Secondary and tertiary students all did well, not least thanks to their preparation throughout the year. First in the ranking is a student in B.U.T.. GIM with a mark of 18 out of 20. In addition to demonstrating the students' spelling skills, this dictation enables them to showcase them on their CVs. With companies, writing and expressive quality is often an asset sought by recruiters.
