The Work-Study Job Fair Delivered on Its Promises

This half-day HR event is designed to facilitate connections between students seeking employment and companies that are hiring

The atmosphere is less formal than a traditional office interview, and it allows companies to introduce themselves to candidates in a different way and increase their visibility. Even if brief, face-to-face interaction helps candidates make a better first impression.

On June 3, 220 candidates for work-study programs attended interviews lasting about ten minutes

Job Dating is aimed at our students who are already in their first or second year of BUT program and who wish to continue their education through a work-study program. It is also open to high school students applying for admission to the BUT program who have been pre-selected by the IUT.

Efficiency and time savings

• Recruiters met with a large number of potential candidates in a single half-day and were able to assess their motivation, personality, drive, and interpersonal skills.
• The candidates had the opportunity to interview with several companies in record time, thereby increasing their chances of landing a contract without having to make multiple trips. The Job Dating setting is reassuring: the process is structured, and the companies are “ready to hire” and have already identified their needs. Job Dating transforms what is often a lengthy and impersonal administrative process into a direct, human experience.

It’s the interaction that counts at this type of event

The resume is a necessary step, but it doesn’t tell the whole story. Some candidates who struggle to highlight their skills on their resume had the opportunity to showcase themselves during the speed interview.
