SURUByx
SURrogate of finite element hUman Body model
Contribute to the development of injury prediction systems for the human body, based on replications of violent loading cases on the body, using an existing numerical model, and which needs to be improved, as well as developing a physical mannequin, based on the numerical model, and allowing, by choosing the right materials, to be as biofidelic as possible.
With the HUByx dummy enabling "realistic" studies of the interactions between a projectile and the human body, the development of a physical dummy based on the digital model can then be envisaged with materials called "substitutes", which are mechanically close to bone or soft biological tissues, and which would take into account a realistic and variable anthropometry and morphology depending on the configurations (10th percentile 50th percentile, 95th percentile). Correlations between the digital model and the physical dummy must then be made in terms of mechanical quantities (displacement, pressure, forces, etc.), to ensure the "biofidelity" of the physical dummy. The latter can then be used for a variety of impact applications, and should ultimately enable standardized use in a context of standardization and anticipation of combatant risks.
