De la SAE à la course auto en GMP ! - IUT
Since early September, the students have been hard at work designing an autonomous mechanism powered by a windshield wiper motor.
The aim: to cover a straight track strewn with obstacles as quickly as possible, while collecting bonuses. This event also mobilizes the GEII department, in charge of the circuit's timing system.
A total of 20 teams competed in the heart of the GMP department workshop, bringing together students in initial and sandwich training in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere.
Under the eyes of the teachers who came to watch the various duels, department head Loïc Lezzani and IUT director Isabelle Massa-Turpin, present for the occasion, the students were able to demonstrate all their know-how.
An action-packed day, but also an emotional one: Jacques Dalongeville, who has overseen this project (SAE) for many years, was organizing this race for the last time before he left the IUT. To mark the occasion, he himself designed a mechanism to measure himself against his students. The students also paid tribute to him by personalizing their vehicles with his effigy.
