UPHF's EURAXESS Centre can help you with your international mobility plans to our university
Are you a doctoral student, researcher, teacher, research engineer, language assistant or trainee in research, teaching or administration with an international mobility project towards UPHF? If so, you have access to a range of free support services, the EURAXESS services.
What is EURAXESS?
EURAXESS is the name of the mission to facilitate the settlement of internationally mobile students in higher education and research establishments, in order to carry out research and/or teaching activities.
Get assistance before, during and after your stay
UPHF’s EURAXESS Centre provides you and your family with information and assistance on many aspects of your mobility and stay.
Before your arrival
Once your host institution has confirmed your mobility project:
- Your host organization (laboratory, teaching department, etc.) will pass on the relevant information to the EURAXESS Centre, which will then contact you via the e-mail address @email, and give you instructions for registering in the French database of international researchers.
- At the same time, UPHF's EURAXESS Centre will start supporting you by exchanging information (e-mails, online meetings, physical appointments, etc.) and providing you with information content (national, such as the Euraxess France portal, or local). It can provide you with information, guidance and assistance on a wide range of topics related to your stay and that of your accompanying family : visa/residence permit, health insurance, bank account, accommodation, schooling for children, etc.
- As soon as you know your arrival date, inform UPHF’s EURAXESS centre by e-mail at @email.
On arrival and during your stay
UPHF’s EURAXESS Centre will:
- Help you open a bank account and finalise procedures relating to accommodation, residence permits and health.
- Remain at your disposal for any other questions relating to your stay : driving in France, check your eligibility to certain allowances (housing, child care, etc)..
- Email you information about the evolution of our service offering, and about events organised by the centre.
Before you leave
UPHF’s EURAXESS Centre centre will help you with the closing formalities (rental agreement, insurance policies, etc.). and will redirect you to the next EURAXESS centre if you wish to continue your scientific mobility to another institution with a centre.
Convivial events all year
UPHF’s EURAXESS Centre also organises events for all its international guests, to help them socialise outside the laboratory and discover their new cultural environment.
Museums and other places of cultural interest in the Hainaut and Hauts-de-France regions, convivial aperitifs and other events await you and your family.
