Day 1

March 2, 2023

Concerns (1): Readable, unreadable

Art never ceases to offer anguished, ecstatic experiences, questioning in turn the divine, the human, the political, the mediums of voice, language, medium, image, sound. There interpenetrate aesthetics and ethics of the material (genre, form, imaginary): autofiction (" autobiographical fracture ") and AIDS of the 80's, or novel of introspection in a Jansenist context as in The Princess of Cleves, articulation/disarticulation of Maximes, Essays and fundamental questioning of " What do I know ? "... We will question in this day to works that pose, thematically, the question of anxiety as a field of apprehension of the world, answering like the Baroque aesthetics to return to God, the only source of security of meaning, or maintaining indeterminacy and doubt as in the Mannerist aesthetics...
