Fête de la science at UPHF

The Fête de la science is an opportunity for scientists, teachers and cultural mediators to bring science, technology and scientific innovations to a wide audience.
On this occasion, many events are organized at UPHF.

  • Mont Houy Campus
  • L'IEMN UMR CNRS 8520 - site de Valenciennes invites you to meet Eric Cattan and Sébastien Grondel, the designers of the Objet Volant Mimant l'Insecte, on October 10 from 9am to 5pm at IMTD. 
  • The IUT brings science to life through games: 
    - the Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computing department offers primary school pupils workshops on cryptology, electronics, electricity, mathematics and robotics, on October 12 and 13, from 9am to 5pm on the Mont Houy campus,
    - The Industrial Engineering and Maintenance department offers middle and high school students workshops on PLC and robot programming, and workshops on the theme of energy,October 12, 9am to 5pm on the Mont Houy campus,
    - The Computer Science and Physical Measurements departments offer a fun way to discover mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry and materials, on the Maubeuge campus,October 12 and 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • The cultural and Laura Wallard, Senior Lecturer, researcher at LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201, and Hauts-de-France ambassador for the Fête de la science 2023, is organizing a trail dotted with sports, fun and artistic workshops, on October 12 from 2pm, on the Mont Houy campus. Hosted by current and future sports and health professionals, these workshops are an opportunity for students, teachers and staff from UPHF and INSA Hauts-de-France to learn more about the human body.
    The course will be tailored to the needs of UPHF and INSA Hauts-de-France students. This tour will be adapted for students at the Thiant school in a "treasure hunt" version.

  • October 2 to 20: When nature inspires innovation - exhibition dedicated to biomimicry. Free admission upon reservation.
  • October 9 to 16: Les ateliers bio-inspirés - Discover biomimicry and understand how scientists can find solutions to certain everyday problems by observing living beings. Event reserved for middle and high school students.
  • October 12 at 6:30pm: Conference When nature inspires innovation by Alain Renaudin, President of NewCorp Conseil, Founder of Biomim'expo on biomimicry. Reservations required.
