Historically, the department is structured into two themes: CIS "Cooperating Intelligent Systems" and ROC "Robustness & complexity" depending on the type of complexity considered.

The ROC theme considers a first type of complexity intrinsic to the system, and the SIC theme, a second type arising from interaction and cooperation between intelligent entities. The difference between the two themes lies mainly in the tools implemented to apprehend this complexity: in ROC the focus is mainly at the operational level, with tools coming from control theory and observation of dynamic systems, whereas in SIC the focus is rather at a decision-making level, with tools for knowledge modeling, classification, event-driven simulation and optimization.

The Nissan LEAF "SHIFT" - is a demonstrator featuring a Steer-by-Wire system, used to study human-machine interactions in shared driving and tele-driving.

Integrated into LAMIH's Autonomous Mobility platform, it is promoted within the AV LAB as part of the regional CPER RITMEA program.

In addition to exchange programs, our university offers the opportunity to study in Valenciennes for shorter periods through our short programs. These programs are designed for international students looking to gain academic and cultural experience in France without committing to a full semester or year.

The Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France and its sports department is proud to be able to support its students to enable them to succeed in a dual project combining intensive and/or high-level sports practice with further studies in higher education. 

After a two-year mandate dedicated to innovation and success, JINNOV crowned this period by organizing its handover party on June 16. This memorable event was held at the Institut des Mobilités de Transports Durables (IMTD) and brought together a host of enthusiastic guests. The event brought together current and former JINNOV members, representatives of the INSA Hauts-de-France administration, partners and associations associated with INSA Hauts-de-France, as well as other Junior-Enterprises (JE) partners. The handover evening marked the transfer of responsibilities and challenges between the old and new mandates, and was an opportunity to take stock of the past two years
