Strengthening academic and scientific cooperation in Morocco

As part of its internationalization strategy, the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF) signed a framework cooperation agreement on April 20, 2026 with the Fondation de Recherche, de Développement et d'Innovation en Sciences et Ingénierie (FRDISI) and its academic establishments, located in Mohammedia and Essaouira (Morocco). The signing took place on the sidelines of an institutional visit to the Africa Global Health Forum in Casablanca.

.

An agreement with FRDISI lays the foundations for broad university cooperation

This agreement will contribute to the development of lasting links between the scientific and academic communities of the two entities. These include: the development of joint research projects, the co-organization of scientific events, the exchange of information and publications, the mobility of teachers, researchers and administrative staff, as well as student exchanges from undergraduate to doctoral level. This signature also paves the way for the establishment of thesis cotutelles and the creation of joint training courses.

Wealthy links with key players in the Continent's public health policies

This signing took place during the visit to Morocco of a UPHF delegation, on the occasion of the Africa Global Health Forum (Casablanca, April 16-19, 2026). Organized alongside the Morocco Medical Expo trade show, this specialized scientific event is dedicated to the transformation of healthcare systems. Each year, it brings together international experts, from the Continent and beyond, to share work for intelligent, resilient and sustainable models.

Among this year's speakers were Mourad Abed, UPHF's Vice President Delegate for Digital, Educational Innovation and Project Strategy, and Sébastien Leteneur, Senior Lecturer in Biomechanics, who illustrated several of the establishment's scientific expertises. They focused respectively on the contribution of digital technologies to simulation and analysis in various fields of healthcare, and on research work devoted to the early detection of multiple sclerosis.

.

Exchanges also brought together representatives of Moroccan hospitals and the Delegate Vice-President in charge of the Health sector, Franck Barbier, around the contributions to medical and paramedical research directly resulting from the close collaborations between UPHF and the Centre Hospitalier de Valenciennes (CHV). A virtuous model, particularly for public health projects or for precision imaging needs to be mobilized as part of cancer research, for example.

.

With this signature and these scientific contributions, Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France confirms its commitment to the development of structuring international cooperations, the dissemination of knowledge on a Euro-Mediterranean scale and the structuring of high-level research in the Hauts-de-France region.
