Our EURAXESS Center: Your International Mobility at UPHF

EURAXESS is the name of the initiative designed to facilitate the integration of individuals participating in international mobility programs at higher education and research institutions, so that they may conduct research and/or teach there.

The UPHF EURAXESS Center provides you and your family with information and assistance on a wide range of aspects related to your mobility and your stay.

Before your arrival

After the UPHF confirms your mobility plan:

• The host institution (laboratory, academic department, etc.) forwards the relevant information to the EURAXESS Center, which will then contact you via the email address euraxess@uphf.fr, and will provide you with instructions for registering on the French database for international researchers.
• At the same time, the UPHF EURAXESS Center will begin supporting you through communication (emails, online meetings, in-person appointments, etc.) and by providing access to informational resources (both national, such as the Euraxess France portal, and local). It is equipped to inform, guide, and assist you on a wide range of topics related to your stay and that of your accompanying family, if applicable: visas/residence permits, health insurance, bank accounts, housing, children’s schooling, etc.
• As soon as you know your arrival date, please notify the UPHF EURAXESS Center by email at the address listed above.

Upon your arrival and during your stay

The UPHF EURAXESS Center:

• Will help you open a bank account and complete the procedures related to housing, residence permits, and health care.
• Will be available to answer any other questions you may have regarding your stay, such as driving in France or determining your eligibility for certain financial assistance.
• Will email you information about the services offered and events organized by the center.
• Will be available to assist you if you’d like support with your career development (see the career guide available on this page).

Before your departure

The UPHF’s EURAXESS center will help you complete the necessary closing procedures (lease agreement, insurance policies, etc.) and will refer you to the next EURAXESS center if you wish to continue your scientific mobility to another institution with a center.

The UPHF's EURAXESS Center also organizes events for its international guests to help them integrate outside the lab and explore their new cultural environment.

Museums and other places of cultural interest in the Hainaut region or the Hauts-de-France region, as well as friendly get-togethers and other events, await you and your family.
