UPHF President takes part in French President's state visit to Morocco
University president Abdelhakim Artiba had the immense honor of being invited by French president Emmanuel Macron to take part in his trip to the Kingdom of Morocco from October 28 to 30 as part of a state visit, a state visit inscribed "in the ambition to refound the exceptional partnership that binds our two countries".
President Artiba had the pleasure and opportunity to accompany our Minister, Pr Patrick Hetzel, notably by visiting the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, to meet the new Moroccan Minister, Pr Azzedine El Midaoui.
As part of a delegation of 122 guests including officials, institutional players, representatives from the worlds of business, industry, the arts, culture, sport, academia, science and associations, President Abdelhakim Artiba had the opportunity to make numerous contacts that he considers "extremely positive".
From the Elysée, it says: "France and Morocco are working together to structure a university offering tailored to the needs of the country and the African continent (...) There are around 280 double-diploma agreements between French and Moroccan higher education establishments. The aim is to reach 500 double-diplomas by 2030, and to extend recognition of diplomas obtained in Morocco by French institutions through inter-university alliances.
The challenge now is to support the development of sandwich courses. French universities are ready to share their expertise in this field, and French companies based in Morocco should be able to take on apprentices.
In terms of university and higher education cooperation, a declaration of intent has been signed, between the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation."
