Complementary activities of a doctoral student registered at UPHF
There are several possibilities in terms of complementary activities for a PhD student*:
- (1) Mission complémentaire d'enseignement dans le contrat doctoral (64 heures équivalent T.D. en vertu des textes en vigueur);
- (2) Complementary mission to disseminate scientific and technical information ;
- (3) Mission complémentaire de valorisation ;
- (4) Mission complémentaire d'expertise (these missions can be carried out in a company, a local authority, an administration, a public establishment, an association or a foundation, 268 hours or 32 days).
A/ For complementary missions (2), (3) and (4)
For the complementary missions of disseminating scientific and technical information, complementary mission of valorization and complementary mission of expertise, please contact your laboratory to find out about the possibilities.
B/ For complementary teaching missions (1)
For the complementary teaching mission in the doctoral contract, depending on your type of funding, you must take the appropriate steps.
Financial support for teaching hours will be provided by the Training Component in which these hours are performed.
Situation 1: you have a public-law doctoral contract
1) Download the form: request for teaching hours for contract doctoral students;
2) Complete and sign the document, then forward the form to the training component, thesis director and laboratory director;
3) Transmission to the ED for signature by the ED Director and the CoR Vice-President ;
4) Once the document has been signed by all parties, the ED forwards the request to the DRH for drafting of an amendment to the doctoral contract authorizing you to work these hours.
Situation 2: you have a private-law doctoral contract
You need to contact the training component to set up a temporary employment file.
Situation 3: you have a CIFRE contract
You need to contact the training component to set up a part-time employee file.
Situation 4: you have a CNRS contract
You must contact the training component to set up a temporary employment file.
You have a CNRS contract
.Situation 5: you have a thesis grant contract (cotutelle and non Boursier Campus France)
1) Download the form: request for teaching hours for contract PhD students;
2) Complete and sign the document, then forward the form to the training component, thesis director and laboratory director;
3) Transmission to the ED for signature by the ED Director and the CoR Vice-President ;
4) Once the document has been signed by all parties, the ED forwards the request to the DRH for drafting of an amendment to the thesis grant contract authorizing you to work these hours.
Situation 6: you have a CAMPUS France scholarship (cotutelle or not)
You are not authorized to carry out complementary teaching assignments.
* In accordance with the terms of article 4 of decree n°2009-464 of April 23, 2009 relating to contractual doctoral students in public higher education or research establishments, contractual doctoral students are subject to the general provisions relating to working hours in the civil service, as they result from decree n° 2000-815 of August 25, 2000 as amended relating to the organization and reduction of working hours in the civil service of the State and in the judiciary. This decree sets the annual working time to be worked by each employee at 1,607 hours
.
Article 5 of decree n°2009-464 precisely defines the service obligations that the doctoral contract may include, as well as the different ways in which they are carried out.
