The EUNICE Alliance meets other European Universities

At the end of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the European University Campus was held on June 30, 2022, at the Palais des Congrès in Versailles, France.

Representatives from 300 participating institutions of the 41 European Higher Education Alliances - including EUNICE, the European University for Tailored Education of which UPHF is a part - met in Versailles on June 30, 2022.

The event was designed as an open campus for European and global higher education stakeholders. It gave the Alliances the opportunity to present their activities and objectives to students, participants from EU member states and the European Commission, as well as from the business and social world.

Thematic workshops and roundtables provided a framework to discuss how European universities contribute to the implementation of the European strategy. The conference thus aimed to promote alliances and cross-border cooperation in higher education, research and innovation.

This European Universities Campus was organized by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research in collaboration with the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and other French institutions.

As a result, the French Minister of Higher Education and Research, Sylvie Retailleau, visited the EUNICE stand at the beginning of her visit to the fair and inquired about the offers and projects.

Sébastien Grondel, EUNICE Alliance Policy Officer and Jonathan Brindle, Head of the International Relations Cluster and EUNICE Project Manager, attended the event to represent the UPHF.

This event was also an opportunity to recall that, in the long term, the emergence of these European university networks should produce a multiplier effect at all levels of organization and in all areas of activity (education, research and innovation). Indeed, after the inauguration of the European University Institute (EUI) in 1976 and the adoption of the ERASMUS program in 1987, the pilot projects of European university networks constitute a third key step in the strengthening of the European identity, the influence and the international attractiveness of these universities.
