The HCERES audit as a strategic lever and gas pedal of collective dynamics

On the occasion of the evaluation conducted by the Haut Conseil de l'évaluation de la recherche et de l'enseignement supérieur (Hcéres), the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France demonstrated that an institutional audit can be much more than a regulatory exercise: a genuine initiator of transformation and shared ambition.

Collective mobilization to support strategy

Friday February 13, nearly a hundred members of the university community gathered around a common goal: to think about the future of the establishment by drawing on collective intelligence.
Divided into more than ten thematic working groups, participants pooled their expertise and confronted their perspectives to come up with structuring proposals for the future of the establishment and its missions. This collaborative method enabled solid, operational ideas to emerge on major issues:

  • Strengthening the polytechnic dimension at the heart of UPHF's educational promise
  • The structuring of scientific axes of excellence for the years to come
  • The development of new partnerships with the regional and national socio-economic ecosystem
  • The sustainable realization of commitments linked to the Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility (DDRS) label.

The HCERES audit: a tool for continuous improvement

The Hcéres evaluation is part of a national approach to the continuous improvement of higher education and research establishments. For UPHF, it represents a strategic opportunity for university communities: to take a step back, analyze its strengths, identify its margins for progress and consolidate its trajectory.
Beyond the institutional expectations, the day's work illustrated a strong reality: the audit is becoming a unifying moment. Far from being perceived as a constraint, it is asserting itself as a structuring framework that stimulates commitment and reinforces the coherence of the collective project.

A dynamic as a major lever for the COMP 100% 2027-2030

This mobilization comes at a pivotal moment for UPHF: the preparation of the next Contract of Objectives, Means and Performance covering 100% of the establishment's activity (COMP 100%) 2027-2030. The conclusions drawn from the workshops held on February 13 will provide a valuable basis for refining priorities, securing investment choices and strengthening the university's territorial impact.
The energy we have seen throughout the course of this year's workshops has been a source of great satisfaction. The energy observed throughout the day, right up to the final presentations, testifies to a community fully aware of the issues at stake and resolutely focused on action. It also confirms UPHF's ability to unite its driving forces around a clear, shared course.
Through this sequence, our university is asserting a strong conviction: the quality of an institution rests as much on its academic performance as on its ability to mobilize its community over the long term.
The HCERES audit will thus have had a major impact on the university's future. The HCERES audit thus served as both a revelation and a gas pedal. It revealed a deep commitment to academic and scientific excellence. A gas pedal of a collective dynamic destined to structure the university's ambitions for years to come.
