Doctor Honoris Causa award ceremony, 12/04/24
For this 2024 edition, the UPHF wanted to dedicate Africa and highlight its personalities.
The HONORIS CAUSA DOCTORATE is a mark of distinction offered by a university to a personality who has made his or her mark in a particular field: sport, arts, sciences, letters, etc. Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France has chosen to honor five outstanding personalities:

Businesswoman - Nobel Peace Prize 2015
Hicham El Guerrouj (Morocco)
Top-level athlete
Yasmina Khadra (Algeria)
Writer
Koffi Kwahulé (Ivory Coast)
Playwright and writer
Manu Dibango - posthumously (Cameroon)
Saxophonist and world jazz singer
The ceremony, hosted by the Big Band Universitaire, in the presence of the laureates, will take place at Le Phénix, scène nationale et pôle européen de création, on Friday April 12 from 6pm. The title of honorary doctorate will be awarded posthumously to Manu Dibango in the presence of his family and friends, and a choreographic and musical tribute will be paid to him on this occasion by two dancers associated with espace pasolini.
This ceremony will also be an opportunity to award the doctoral diploma to the 2021/2022/2023 winners of the Hauts-de-France polytechnic doctoral school.
