The first immersive roped party experience in the educational metaverse

In order to respond to the orientation problems encountered by high school students, the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France has been running actions via the Cordées de la réussite scheme for many years, in particular through its CLAED (Collégiens, Lycéens Aujourd'hui, Étudiants Demain) program.

Thanks to Cordée CLAED, the university's sports department has set up the very first project in the academic region, specifically geared towards high-level sports students currently in high school, with the aim of supporting them in their orientation by promoting equal opportunities and combating self-censorship, while at the same time stimulating their academic ambitions.

The VECOS educational metaverse has thus made it possible to respond to the challenges specific to top-level athletes, notably by overcoming the travel constraints imposed by their busy schedules due to their dual projects. The idea behind this application is to transcend the limits of conventional videoconferencing by creating a truly dedicated universe for an event, just as would be possible in the physical world. The application eliminates obstacles, enabling authentic virtual immersion and opening up new perspectives in the field of remote events and actions. Vecos software enabled us to set up various interconnected spaces, such as classrooms, an amphitheater, presentation stands, and even a gallery to showcase a range of visual resources.

Thanks to this first experience, some forty students were able to be accompanied simultaneously in various presentations and exchanges covering the workings of the university, support for top-level athletes in higher education, streams in the field of sport, the brand-new L3P SHN license, and even to exchange with peers currently in higher education.
