France's top sportsmen and women immerse themselves in human solidarity in the heart of Morocco

On their return from Morocco, the students in the L3P SHN (Sportifs de Haut Niveau) program at the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF) will be remembering much more than just a simple university trip.

Invited by Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique (UM6P) to take part in the 1ʳᵉ edition of the ASEG - Academic & Sporting Excellence Gathering, these young athletes enjoyed an experience as demanding as it was transformative, combining performance, innovation and cultural immersion.

Among the highlights, the day spent in Tizi-n-Oucheg, a village perched in the Moroccan High Atlas, will be remembered as a moment of human exception. Beyond the training sessions and workshops, the UPHF's SHNs shared a simple, sincere and warm daily life with the douar's inhabitants: intergenerational meetings, exchanges on local realities, a friendly match with the village's youth, the donation of sports equipment to the region's young people: a moment in life marked by respect, listening and emotion.

Another significant moment: the meeting with 44 students from the Lydex sport-études in Rabat, who came to discover the L3P SHN, currently in the process of obtaining a double diploma. A rich exchange around training paths, the demands of top-level sport and bridges between the two establishments.

This immersion offered the student-athletes a valuable lesson: sport is also a universal language of solidarity, commitment and mutual understanding. An experience that opened them up to other social realities, far removed from the elite fields they know, but just as formative.

This project embodies the shared ambition of UPHF and UM6P: to train all-round sportsmen and women, capable of excelling on the field, but also in their role as enlightened citizens, bearers of human values and solidarity.
