Second edition of the EUNICE Imagine Innovation Cup entrepreneurial competition
On July 11 and 12, 2024, the second edition of the EUNICE Imagine Innovation Cup took place, an entrepreneurial competition between students from the ten universities of the EUNICE alliance.
The annual EUNICE Imagine Innovation Cup competition invites students to conceive and develop an entrepreneurial project which they will then present to an international jury of experts.
The competition takes place in two stages: an initial local selection designates the team that will represent its university at European level (at UPHF, this is the Créathon de l'INSA Hauts-de-France), followed by a final phase, held this year at the University of Cantabria (Santander, Spain).
Beyond a simple competition, this event is an opportunity for students from the ten universities in the EUNICE alliance to meet and exchange.
UPHF, represented by the Walkbox team
Following their success at the Créathon 2024 organized by INSA Hauts-de-France, the Walkbox team flew to Santander to present and defend their idea to their European peers. The Walkbox concept? An all-in-one device that's easy to attach to outdoor structures, includes an NFC module for opening features on one's mobile device, and also acts as a charging point and emergency system, powered by solar panels - all in an affordable box.
Congratulations to Fatima and Alexandre, who brilliantly represented their team, UPHF and INSA Hauts-de-France in this final!
Results of the EUNICE Imagine Innovation Cup
This year, three PhD students from the University of Vaasa, Finland, were proclaimed winners of the competition for their project entitled Unicore, a solution consisting of deploying a constellation in low-Earth orbit to provide positioning, navigation and synchronization services, thereby improving navigation accuracy in various fields (logistics, air mobility, maritime navigation...).
The Finnish team received a prize of one thousand euros for the best start-up idea of the competition.
