UPHF hosts EUNICE Alliance Games: sports tournaments and cultural exchanges

From October 21 to 25, the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France had the honor of hosting the EUNICE 2024 Alliance Games. This "made in France" edition brought together student-athletes from the ten member universities of the EUNICE alliance for a week of international sporting competitions, cultural exchanges and convivial moments.

The 2024 edition of the event introduced a novelty to its traditional format by organizing a mixed basketball tournament in addition to the mixed volleyball tournament. Both tournaments were broadcast live on uphf.fr/eag-2024 (replay to come).

Beyond the sports fields, the EUNICE Alliance Games offered students the opportunity to explore the city of Valenciennes and discover French culture. Guided tours of the city were offered by students from UPHF's Master Patrimoine et Ressources Territoriales. European students also had the chance to discover local landmarks such as the Arenberg mining site. These various visits enabled the participants to deepen their cultural understanding and create strong bonds, making this week as enriching on a human level as it was competitive in the sporting aspect.

This edition of the EUNICE Alliance Games not only strengthened relations between European universities but also helped to promoteunity, diversity and cooperationwithin the EUNICE alliance.
