Conference by Manon Apithy-Brunet, gold medallist in individual sabre at the Paris 2024 Olympics

The Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France will welcome Manon Apithy-Brunet for a conference focusing on her preparation and performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics, which will take place in the university's brand-new institute: the Institut des Transversalités, des Sports et de la Santé - IT2S. This conference will be followed by a moment of meeting and exchange.

Manon Apithy-Brunet

At the age of 8, Manon Apithy-Brunet took up fencing in Rillieux-la-Pape, before joining the Orléans fencing circle and gaining recognition for her performances.

She became double world junior champion in 2015 and 2016, then joined the INSEP senior team.

In 2018, she won gold at the World Team Championships in Wuxi, and confirms this in 2021 with a team silver medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games, as well as a fine individual bronze medal.

The year 2022 is marked by her place as world number 1. European champion in 2023 in the individual category, she also won team gold at the Krakow European Games. Known for her fast attacks and feints, Manon climbed to the top step by winning the gold medal in individual saber at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Manon Apithy-Brunet is carrying out this visit and lecture as part of an agreement signed with Casden Banque Populaire.
