As part of a Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE)

The ENDANSANT project proposes to interrogate the construction of the profession of dance teacher, the conditions and places of its exercise between the seventeenth century and the twenty-first century in France. Based on sources of diverse natures (manuscript, iconographic, printed, oral), private or public, and from the conflicts and moments of tension opposing the teachers to the various authorities that govern them, the study will seek to identify this socio-professional category, to define the legal frameworks of their activity and the conditions of its exercise.

At UPHF, international students can take French courses in conjunction with their studies. There are several options available.

The IAE Valenciennes, University Management School of the Hauts-de-France Polytechnic University (UPHF) is pleased to welcome the 6th edition of the IAE International Week in Valenciennes from February 09 to 13, 2026.

Currently in the 3ᵉ year of her thesis, Meryem Mounaj, a PhD student at the CERAMATHS laboratory - Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France, is working on the additive manufacturing of catalytic supports for the conversion of biosourced molecules. In this interview, Meryem shares her academic background, her current research and the motivations that drive her to excel in this promising field.

The Simone Veil multimedia library is home to a treasure trove of illuminated manuscripts and iconographic documents, regularly showcased at cultural and scientific events. The building also houses Valenciennes' municipal archives, which contain unique sources on the city's history since the 13th century.
The Nocturnes de l'Histoire, which will take place here in 2025, will offer the public two highlights based on the presentation of remarkable items from the municipal archives and two lectures on the theme of pets in the ancient worlds of Antiquity and the Middle Ages.
